Emma
A two year old Bernese Mountain Dog and the famous $20,000 dog. Emma recently decided she was going to be the Michael Phelps of Berners (minus the bong, pot, etc). She also enjoys being the center of attention, feet sitting, lap laying, etc.
We call Emma the $20,000 dog simply because she is. Emma has had an unfortunate medical history. All before she turned one she had arthroscopic elbow surgery to correct a form of elbow dysplasia and bilateral hip replacement to correct a rare hip disorder. Those two procedures combined with all of the routine costs associated with a puppy and well that all adds up to in the ballpark of $20,000.
All of that considered, we would not go back and trade her for anything. As the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!
