Cesar Millan Gets a Bite of Texan Hospitality

June 9th, 2009 by Jeffrey P

cesarA few weeks back Cesar Millan was in this part of Texas filming for his upcoming season of The Dog Whisperer. Like any good Texan would, the 150 lb Great Dane he was working with gave Cesar a big Texan Welcome only this time by trying to engulf his hand. Like a Jedi Knight, Cesar was careful not to react to the bite and when questioned about it he simply stated, “it just keeps me more focused.” Moments later when the Great Dane realized Cesar was not going to give up they enjoyed a swim together. In the words of Ali G, “respect”.

You know you have been bitten a lot when you can just take it and not react. I have read similar advice in animal behavior books, especially ones about parrots. I have seen my wife attempt this technique on several occassions with our African Grey Parrot Chester. Apparently its just as hard to do as it sounds, not reacting to a bite that is. If you have a parrot you know nothing can quite prepare you for the shock of the bite…well maybe if you had somebody drop a bowling ball on your foot. Anyway I digress, in the famous words of Billy Currington, “God is Great, Beer is Good, and people (Cesar Millan) are Crazy.”
