Wubba has now been taking Dasuquin for Cats for more than 7 weeks. We continue to give a two capsule dosage since Wubba is sharing the food that contains the Dasuquin. It seems like the last week Wubba has not been doing as the previous week. I have noticed on several occasions he seems to be walking a little awkwardly, like maybe his joints are aching. This is in contrast to the past two weeks in which he seemed to be doing much better. This past week we have had some bad weather and I know some people who are arthritic can be sensitive to changes in barometric pressure so maybe that has been a contributing factor. I cannot think of any other reason why his progress would have taken a step backwards.
Anyway, I was thinking this week would be the summary week and the last week of the review but because of Wubba’s backwards progression I will continue to provide weekly updates.
I have also provided some additional pictures this time. Below is a picture of what the capsules look like, they are about the same size as a 500mg acetaminophen capsule. I also included what looks like a gross picture but what is acutally the contents of two capsules of Dasuquin on top of a can of cat food prior to me mixing it up, enjoy.

Thank you for your info. On Dasuquin for cats. I am thinking of trying it for my arthritic old girl who is on a generic version of cosequin, on my vet’s recommendation.
A couple of thoughts- I use CAS Options Extra Strength Immune Support to my tubby FIV boy cats. I put ground up sprinkles in the bottom of their bowl it top it with a teaspoon of fancy feast canned food. All my cats get their own little bowl, so no one is left out. They clean it up pretty well this way.
Your cat’s decrease in comfort could be from overdoing the counter leaping- he needs to get those joints lubricated through less strenuous activity- how about chasing a laser point? I speak from arthritis knowledge for myself- although I do pool exercise instead of chasing laser points.*g*
Thanks for the input Buncats_mom. I never thought about it but it is possible he was overdoing it by jumping around on the countertops. We really should try to get him some low impact exercise. It has certainly worked well for Emma , we can’t keep her out of the pool.

After Inky had been on Dasuquin for 6 weeks, with no improvement, I switched her to Cosequin. She actually is doing a little more- going out on the porch or out to the garage once a day. I think that the Dasuquin may have been irritating her sensitve stomach a bit.

Sorry to hear the Dasuquin didn’t work out for Inky. IMO, Cosequin is also a very good product. It just so happened that Wubba seemed to respond better to the Dasuquin. It is somewhat of a trial and error process and the bottom line is you just have to experiment until you find the product that works for and is tolerated by your 4-legged family member.
