If you thought the Hurricane Ike Dog Daizy’s story was amazing, check out Muffy’s story. Muffy disappeared from her family’s home in Brisbane, Australia some 9 years ago. This past week Animal Cruelty investigators were investigating a possible case of animal cruelty in the city of Melbourne, Australia, 1200 miles from Brisbane. They discovered a dirty white dog sleeping outside on a piece of cardboard. The dog was suffering from a severe flea infestation and allergy. The investigators scanned her for a microchip and discovered her owners were actually some 1200 miles away in Brisbane. It’s safe say Muffy’s owners were a little shocked that their dog, lost 9 years ago, was found alive and would be coming home soon.
This story is also a great opportunity to bring up the case for microchipping. If your 4-legged friend is not microchipped, go get it done, right now! Even if your dog stays inside and in your backyard you just never know.
