Greatest Dog Movies of All-Time
10. Beethoven
The first Beethoven movie was good, the sequel and 4 others that followed the sequel, not so much.
9. All Dogs go to Heaven
Yet another case where the original was better than the sequel. It also gets points for using Burt Reynolds and Dom Deluise to voice the two main characters.
8. 101 Dalmations (1961)
I am talking the original animated film not the crappy live-action remake. I was scared of Cruella Di Vil, still am acutally.
7. Marley and Me
Even though I had read the book long before the movie came out and I knew what was coming….I still couldn’t hold back the tears at the end. That’s right, I cried…men have feelings too.
6. White Fang
Just a classic
5. Cujo
Not exactly Beethoven. In 1983 Cujo changed everybody’s perceptions about St. Bernards. Also if you need a reason to have your dog vaccinated for rabies, watch Cujo.
4. Benji (1974)
Another classic, how could you not love a face like that?
3. Lady and the Tramp
Contains one of the most recognizable scenes of any movie, the spaghetti dinner scene…It is also my wife’s favorite so that didn’t hurt its ranking.
2. Turner and Hooch
The greatest police dog of all-time, IMO. Hooch, the Dogue de Bordeaux or French Mastiff, should be credited with most of Tom Hank’s success in life.
1. Old Yeller
Old Yeller scares off racoons, saves Travis from wild hogs and helps bring Old Rose’s baby cow home all before dying a premature death due to rabies but still good enough for #1
