H-Town, the Bayou City, statistically was named the number one city for dog attacks on United States Postal Service (USPS) postal carriers. According to the data released last week by the USPS there were 62 attacks on mail carriers last year in Houston. Nationwide, 5,669 USPS employees were attacked by dogs in more than 1,400 cities. Rounding out the top five were Columbus, Ohio and San Diego (tied for the No. 2 spot); Los Angeles; Louisville, Ky.; San Antonio and St Louis (tied for the No. 5 spot).
What’s the cost to you the taxpayer? A cool 1.2 million in 2010. No wonder the price of stamps keeps going up.
