So, a quick update regarding my Hill’s prescription diet j/d review. I previously stated the cost was not significantly more than the Science Diet Advanced Fitness and I was wrong. The first time we purchased it, the veteranarian’s office only had the 10 lb. bag so I did not pay much attention to the cost. However, yesterday the wife went back to pick up the 30 lb. bag (the biggest available for j/d) and it was $75 USD. The Science Diet Advanced Fitness we were feeding the beasts was about $40 for a 40 lb. bag. So comparing the two, regular Science Diet is about $1 per lb whereas the new j/d prescription diet is about $2.50 per lb or 2.5 times as much. Again, this may be relative…if you are feeding a 8 lb. Maltese your yearly feeding costs have not probably gone up that much. If you are like us and are feeding two beasts, the difference is much more significant.
I will be back later in the week for the actual product evaluation portion of the review.
