Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Eggplant Dog Toy Review

After months of heavy usage. Notice the teeth marks and fresh slobber.

I was first introduced to Planet Dog toys really by accident. My wife and I were out walking Bosley one day and he found an Orbee-Tuff Orbee Ball in a hedge near our townhouse. Prior to that I had never seen an Orbee-Tuff Orbee Ball and to be honest I was not even sure it was a dog toy until I gave it a closer inspection and noticed the Planet Dog logo. Bosley was quite fond of his discovery and since it was in a hedge out by the street we decided to keep it, or he decided I should say.

That was a couple of years ago and sometime between two moves and two different yards the Orbee-Tuff Ball managed to disappear like many other toys. Recently while shopping my favorite dog toy website, Best Friends General Store, I came across Planet Dog toys and more specifically the Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Eggplant. I could not resist the clever original design and since they were so fond of the Orbee-Tuff Ball I decided to purchase one for Bosley and Emma to test.

That was several months ago and they still love the Orbee-Tuff Eggplant. It is one of the first 2-3 toys they drag out of their toy basket every day. I think the primary reason they prefer the Orbee-Tuff Eggplant to similar toys is because it is a little bit softer than Kong and West Paw Design toys. Bosley is an especially heavy chewer and seems to enjoy the fact that he can easily squash the eggplant in his mouth. Being that it is a little bit softer than similar toys by other manufacturers I was a little bit concerned it wouldn’t last. However, I have been pleasantly surprised and the Orbee-Tuff Eggplant has held up very well. As you can see in the picture it has a fair amount of teeth marks and slobber but it is still holding up well.
