The Humane Society in conjunction with the Kaufman County Texas Sheriff’s Department rescued over 500 dogs from a puppy mill just south of Dallas, TX. Most of the dogs were small breeds like Chihuahuas and Mini-Poodles. All of the dogs were being kept in deplorable conditions and most were experiencing various health issues mainly: infected wounds, skin infections, eye infections and parasites.
IMO, the other story here is how PetSmart stepped up and sent its Emergency Relief Waggin’ to assist with the rescues. PetSmart donated all kinds of much needed necessities including wire crates, food and bedding.
